IND Vs AUS Head to head in World Cup so far
Both the teams played 11 matches head to head in World Cup so far, where the Aussies dominated India in 8 of them. Considering the last two World Cup matches both the team banks one match each. Team India last won against Australia in 2011 world cup quarter final, knocking out Australia from of the tournament. While again Australia brings back history to repeat by defeating India with a margin of 95 runs in the 2015 World Cup at Sydney. Present Condition
But India can modify the history at Oval on Sunday, 9th of June. The venue has seen slower bowlers have a big say in the last three matches so far. In the last three games combined, spinners have accounted for 15 wickets with pacers too banking on slower ones and cutters. The world class bowlers like Lungi Ngidi and Kagiso Rabada had to rely on variations to get wickets. So, India is positioning an advantage in this game as the pacers like Jaspreet Bumrah and Bhubaneswar Kumar is present in the team. And experts have already indicated that the spinners of India can ravage any batting order. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav are playing the role of the limb of Indian bowling unit in this World Cup. The principal batting unit of Australia somehow faces trouble against spin bowling.
Concerning the batting phase of India, it is quite decent situation for the team as the Ro‘hit-man’ Sharma comes back to form after consecutive failures including the practice matches. Hardik Pandya is playing a destructive role as a finisher. So overall the batting unit of India is all set to overcome the Aussie’s boundary.
So, the settled batting combination, variety in spin bowling, experienced death bowling makes team India a favorites against team Australia. But the match is believed to be high voltage as both the team are following the winning streak.
