Moscow Global Forum “City for Education” is a major International educational event in 2019, will take place from August 29th to September 1st at VDNKh. For the third time, the Forum will mark the beginning of a new academic year, with a great choice of events on its business agenda and various presentations of Moscow educational megaprojects and leading companies.
Since education is a process that involves all residents and institutions of the capital, the theme of the 2019 Forum is ‘The City that Teaches and Learns’. For four days the VDNKh pavilion No. 75 will be turned into one big school, presenting its guests with a wide variety of educational opportunities available in the capital. Visitors will learn how cutting-edge technologies are implemented in Moscow schools, test the latest equipment and get the most relevant information on innovative educational trends. The Forum will feature about 1,000 leading Russian and international experts from more than 50 countries. At the exhibition, over 80 companies will showcase how they contribute to the development of the innovative educational community.
In 2019, the Forum has become more international as a partnership agreement with AQDAR World Summit was signed. This year the UAE became a city-partner of the Forum.
The 2019 “City for Education” will be a unique space where everyone will find topics and formats to their liking, as the Forum will simultaneously host numerous events of its business, educational and entertainment agenda.
The business agenda includes international conferences, discussions, seminars, debates, pitch sessions and workshops. The Moscow education system professionals and experts will take part in strategic sessions together with their colleagues from around the globe. These sessions will be primarily focused on examining key mechanisms of a city as an ecosystem capable of uniting all cities in the world through education. The experts will discuss recent developments in the industry at a number of events such as Congress of Moscow Teachers, City Pedagogical Council, etc. A large number of participants will be gathered at important business events such as:
- International Conference of Heads of City Education Departments
- International Conference 21st century school education: development and evaluation of soft skills by Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Science and Education
- The Russian Students Movement Congress
- Business events with representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences
This year, the extensive Forum’s agenda is designed for a wide range of visitors. A special programme has also been prepared for parents. Apart from the opportunity to get acquainted with the Moscow educational projects and witness the educational process in action, parents will be able to ask questions, share their opinions and make suggestions at the meetings with headmasters of Moscow schools.

Young visitors will be able to enjoy free football and basketball training sessions with professional coaches and famous athletes. As part of the sports programme, the traditional “Run for Good” charity event will also be held, where everyone can help children by running through one of the city’s most picturesque parks.
Moscow Global Forum “City for Education” is the largest communication and exhibition platform, presenting practical experience in integrating Moscow’s resources to successfully implement the open education concept, using the potential of science, culture and business to shape students’ competencies required for their future profession and life in a high-tech city. In 2018, more than 133,000 residents and Moscow visitors participated in the Forum that boasted a total of 460 sections on its business agenda, about 1,000 session speakers and seminar leaders as well as 86 exhibitors demonstrating innovative educational solutions.
