Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced continuing “Mo Sarkar” initiative he launched on Gandhi Jayanti day on 2nd October. He said, on his 74th birthday, the initiative is an empowerment initiative and it will be further strengthened.
“When talking to people the popular feedback I am getting is to continue “Mo Sarkar’ and to expand to other Departments. Let me assure the People of Odisha – Mo Sarkar as an empowerment Initiative and it will be further strengthened. It will be expanded to five more Departments by December 1st and by March 5th, 2020 ‘Mo Sarkar’ will cover all Departments of the Government,” Patnaik told the media.
Patnaik announced a slew of measures to strengthen the health care facilities in State based on the second set of visit reports of ‘Mo Sarkar’ teams to the six districts. He announced that the State Government’s endeavour is to set up one Medical College in each of the erstwhile undivided districts.
“In that backdrop, I am happy to announce that a Government Medical College and Hospital would be set up at District Headquarter Hospital, Phulbani. The number of beds would be increased to 500 for the aforesaid purpose and a composite campus would be planned,” the Chief Minister said.
Patnaik said all District Hospitals to have Attendant Rest shed, Rs.15 lakh will be given to all Rogi Kalvan Samities from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for patient welfare and innovations. Further, Rs.l0 lakh to the SPs for promotion of blood donation activities in Nuapada, Ravaqadar Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Boudh districts, he said.
The jail land will be handed over in one month for the construction of a 200 bed District Hospital in Boudh district.
“ A high-level team will visit the Hadabhanga Block of the district to study the chronic Kidney disease,” he said. The State Government will also provide one Ambulance and one hearse (Mahaprayan) van to the district, he said.
The CM also announced hiking the Bed strength in Nayagarh District Hospital to 250, new additional building for 100 beds in the District Hospital and two Ambulances and a hearse van. For Kalahandi District Hospital he announced an additional 100 bed in a new building, three Ambulances and two Mahaprayan vans.
The Chief Minister announced water supply facility and Staff quarters at CHC Kashipur, four Ambulances and one Mahaprayan van for Rayagada District Hospital while one Ambulance and one Mahaprayan van for Nuapara District Hospital on the occasion.
Further, the Chief Minister on Monday announced a package worth over Rs 400 crore for three districts—Malkangiri, Koraput Medical College and Koraput District Headquarters Hospital for the development of health care facilities.
In Malkangiri District he approved doctor accommodation and transit home; attendants rest-shed, increasing bed capacity to 200 and daily bus service from Motu to Malkangiri. For Koraput Medical College, the Chief Minister directed for a detailed planning for a composite hospital with 500 beds which would be enhanced to 700 in two years, attendants rest shed in the present campus as an interim measure, staff quarters and transit home in the composite campus and five ambulances and three Mahaparayana (hearse) vehicles.
He approved raising the bed strength to 250 in Koraput District Hospital, construction of new ward above existing building, staff quarter, attendant rest shed and two ambulances. The Chief Minister also approved raising the bed strength to 200 in Nabarangpur District Hospital, a 200-bed new hospital building, attendants rest shed, three ambulances and three hearse vehicles.
