Secretary Tourism and Sports, Vishal K Dev has said that Odisha is developing new destinations to attract tourists from both domestic and international sector. Dev was speaking at Odisha Tourism’s 11th Road Show at Varanasi which got kick started at Clarks Hotel in the city.
While addressing Media, Secretary Tourism, Dev also said ‘Odisha is emerging as India’s sought after destination. With Alliance Air starting daily flights between Bhubaneswar and Varanasi from 31 January, it will be much more beneficial for the tourists. The option of daily direct flights between the two destinations will reduce the travel time making it convenient for passengers.
And the Department of Tourism is developing new destinations and niche tourism products with a view to attract domestic and foreign tourists to the state, said he. Dev also said Odisha is famous for its golden beaches, sprawling lakes, luxuriant forests, teeming wildlife, majestic temples & monuments, Buddhist sites, exotic handloom & handicrafts, primitive tribes, colorful fairs and festivals and the scintilla dating music, dances & cuisine which attract large number of tourists.
Business to Business (B2B) meetings of the Road Show had seen participation of over 70 tour operators from the city that had one-on-one interactions with eight stakeholders from Odisha. Mayfair Hotels and Resorts participated aggressively in the B2B Meet and the Team led by AGM PN Thakur.
Thakur was happy with the responses of the B2B Meet and said the Road Show organized by Odisha Tourism has been successful in generating lot of interest by the hospitality industry. The objective of the Road Show was to promote the State and its variety of tourism products in the Holy City.It will be benefited to the tour lovers, tour operators, travel agents, travel writers, journalists, decision makers.
