Sundargarh, 3rd March, 2020: The state government has taken a number of initiatives for the development of Sundargarh district. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday dedicated over 1500 crore worth welfare projects to the people of Sundargarh.
Sectors like Health, Education, Connectivity and Transport, Rural Electrification etc. have been given importance by the district administration. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated 41 projects amounting to 494.43 crores. Similarly, foundation was laid for 102 new projects to the tune of 1032.15 crores. The government has utilized the funds from the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) and other welfare schemes to achieve the projects.
Mr. Patnaik gave away incentives to the beneficiaries of various different Govt. schemes at Sundargarh, today. It includes Rural Housing, Nirman Shramik Welfare schemes, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), RoR under Forest Rights and land to the landless under Vasundhara scheme.
During his visit, the CM flagged off a fleet of 37 ambulances with life support system as well as 15 Mahaprayan vehicles which have been procured under DMF. On this occasion, he also launched the mobile app of Sundargarh District Central Cooperative Bank.
The Chief Minister congratulated the members of Sundargarh Men’s Football Team for reaching the finals of State Level SDC Cup 2020 Football Championship.
Later, the Chief Minister took part in a public meeting at Bhawani Bhawan ground at Sundargarh where he assured the public that his government is constantly working for the betterment of Sundargarh and its people. “Today, the inauguration of projects worth 1500 crore for the district of Sundargarh gives me immense happiness. Sundargarh Medical College will be operational soon. Sundargarh and Rourkela have been playing a key role in shaping up the state’s progress”, the Chief Minister was quoted as saying.
