On April 24, the number of patients exceeded 100 after seven positive cases were reported in Jajpur district. On the day the 100 was crossed, the alarm rang for the entire state. This is because the virus has been detected from Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur, one after the other, due to patients with travel history to Kolkata. Within 15 days, the number of patients had risen to more than 200. The situation in Odisha is now said to be uncontrollable due to influx of migrants from Kolkata and Surat.
