The State government has decided to increase the number of tests to 15,000 per day from August, said the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar director Ajay Parida on Monday.
“The State government is considering to deploy mobile coronavirus testing vans to increase the testing after Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) decided to conduct more COVID-19 tests,” Parida said. He also added that three districts namely, Ganjam, Khurda and Cuttack will be in focus since 65% of Odisha’s total COVID-19 cases have been reported from these areas.
Mobile coronavirus testing vans have been deployed in Ganjam to conduct antigen tests. The government soon will take a decision on the deployment of such vans in other parts of the state to increase the testing.
