Polsara MLA Srikant Sahu and his wife tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday. He is the fourth MLA from the state to get infected by the corona virus.
Earlier, Sudhansu Sekhar Parida, the BJD legislator from Remuna constituency had tested positive for COVID-19 after coming in contact with BJP MLA from Nilagiri, Sukanta Kumar Nayak. Nayak is the first public representative from the state to test Corona positive. Prasant Behera from Salipur in Cuttack district also tested positive for COVID-19.
After five employees of Odisha Assembly tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, Speaker SN Patro informed that the proceedings of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will remain suspended till July 31. The Assembly will resume its activities from August 4.
