Ex Karnataka CM and leader of opposition Siddaramaiah on Tuesday tweeted that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been admitted to the hospital. The 71-year-old has requested all those who have come into contact with him to quarantine themselves.

Siddaramaiah’s son Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah said his father had a fever since Monday morning and was admitted to hospital in the night. “He was confirmed with corona infection after the antigen test was conducted,” he said in a tweet.
Siddaramaiah has been admitted to Manipal Hospital where CM BS Yedurappa is also undergoing treatment for COVID-19.
On Monday, a total of 4752 fresh cases and 98 deaths were registered in Karnataka, taking the total tally to 1,39,571 including 62,500 recoveries and 2,594 deaths.
