The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed public interest litigation (PIL) seeking probe by the CBI or NIA into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. The apex court was hearing a petition filed by law student DD Dubey seeking CBI probe into the actor’s mysterious death.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, the senior law officer of the Cenrtal govt. submitted before the SC that the FIR registered in Patna in the case has already been handed over to the CBI for investigation. Advocate Subash Jha appeared for the petitioner and sought a CBI probe into the death case.
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar had sent a recommendation to the Central govt. for CBI investiagation in the case filed in Patna based on the complaint of the late actor’s father KK Singh against Rhea Chakroborty under sections including abetment of suicide on July 25.
The actor was found dead on June 14 at his Mumbai residence.
