Dr Dhanada Kanta Mishra has been honored with a coveted spot on the Diversity List 2024, unveiled by the renowned Zubin Foundation of Hong Kong. The announcement was made during a launch, graced by guests, including Mr Eric Chan, Chief Secretary of Hong Kong SAR, past participants of the Diversity List, and prominent personalities from Hong Kong’s ethnic minority community and organizations. The Diversity List serves as a platform to highlight the crucial role played by ethnic minorities in the vibrant fabric of Hong Kong society.

Ethnic minorities form an integral and rapidly growing part of the Hong Kong community, contributing to the city’s ethnic diversity and enriching its cultural tapestry. As a testament to their valuable skills and contributions, the Zubin Foundation urges the government to consider appointing ethnic minorities with relevant expertise to HKSAR Advisory and Statutory Bodies (ASBs). The Diversity Lists curated by the Zubin Foundation identify qualified and dedicated individuals from the community who are eager to serve.

From an initial pool of 73 preliminary nominations, 21 exceptional nominees were selected for the Diversity List 2024 after a rigorous evaluation process. The evaluation encompassed comprehensive background checks, thorough examination of CVs, and personal interviews facilitated by Spencer and Stewart, the knowledge partner, and an eminent selection panel. Since its inception in 2016, the Zubin Foundation has put forth a total of 122 individuals across five Diversity Lists, spanning from 2016 to 2020. This initiative has resulted in the creation of a directory of ethnic minorities who have demonstrated exceptional talent and commitment to serve on ASBs within the Government of the HKSAR.

Dr Dhanada Kanta Mishra arrived in Hong Kong in 2017 as a visiting research scholar at HKUST and has since made significant contributions to the field of engineering. Joining the startup RaSpect AI, Dr Mishra has played a pivotal role in advancing the automated safety inspection of built infrastructure, thereby enabling the growth of the startup beyond the shores of Hong Kong.

Commenting on Dr Mishra’s inclusion in the Diversity List 2024, Theresa Cunanan, a member of the Diversity List Committee, stated, “Dhanada is a distinguished academic in the field of engineering, whose extensive research experience in emerging building materials has greatly contributed to our understanding of superior infrastructure and sustainability in industrial technology. His expertise holds immense potential to enhance civil engineering in HKSAR.”

Dr Dhanada Kanta Mishra’s selection for the Diversity List 2024 is a testament to his remarkable accomplishments and dedication to his field. The Zubin Foundation congratulates Dr Mishra and expresses its gratitude to all the nominees for their commitment to serving the Hong Kong community.
