Interested Candidates can Enroll for various Courses under ‘School of Engineering’

Industries at the national and global level need skilled human resources. To meet this need, 1-year advanced training courses in various cutting-edge subjects are being offered at the World Skill Center set up by the Govt of Odisha at Bhubaneswar. As a result, the youth of Odisha get diverse job prospects in India and abroad post completing the skill development training.
The application process for enrollment in the September session of the 2024-25 batch of World Skill Center starts from June 22. Interested candidates from Odisha can apply till August 30th for enrollment in various advanced courses under ‘School of Engineering’.
Once the application process is over, eligible students will be selected for enrollment in various courses through a special entrance test conducted by the World Skill Center in online mode.
For the academic year 2024-25, ultramodern courses like ‘Precision Engineering’ are being introduced under the ‘School of Engineering’ department. Under the new course, modules like Engineering Drawing & Inspection Techniques, Engineering Process (Turning), Engineering Process, 3D CAD/CAM Applications, CNC Sheet metal Fabrication and Grinding etc shall be taught to the students.
Along with this, there are other subjects like Mechanical and Electrical Services, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and Vertical Transportation (Lift Technology) offered at World Skill Center. Applications are invited by the World Skill Center for the enrollment of a total of 6 courses in the current batch for ‘School of Engineering’.
Candidates must have completed 2 years ITI/3 years Diploma from any Government or Private Industrial Training or Polytechnic Institute in Odisha for enrollment to World Skill Center.

World Skill Center has been set up by Odisha Skill Development Authority under the Skill Development and Technical Education Department. The center is equipped with the necessary infrastructure, ultramodern laboratories and world-class equipment with courses of international standard.
Operating on a finishing school model, the World Skill Center grooms the young men & women with necessary skills and training to prepare them for the national and international level across the industry and service sector.
Hostel, food, uniform and bus facility for transportation to and from the hostel are provided free of cost.
The World Skill Center provides opportunities for students to go abroad and gain unique experience. Under this programme, 40 students from the center are selected and sent to Singapore for a two-week ‘Student Exchange’ program. Similarly, every year 24 students are selected and given the opportunity to do paid internships at various companies in Singapore.
Special emphasis is placed on ‘Placement’ so that after completion of training, students can get employment in top industrial organizations of the country and abroad.
