The ‘Advanced Certificate in Facility Technology – Vertical Transportation’ as a course is rapidly evolving with the increase in high rises, apartment complexes, malls, airports & railway stations etc. Thus, the demand for advanced technology and skilled workforce to manage modern equipment like elevators, escalators & travelators is rising globally. This course, introduced at World Skill Center recently has led to global jobs for students. Likewise, this year too, the aspiring students can apply for admission to the course beginning September 2024.
The premier skill training facility in Odisha, World Skill Center offers advance skill programs across 2 schools, School of Engineering and School of Services. Online applications for September session are open for the Academic Year 2024-25. The students who have completed their +2 or 2-years ITI/ 3-years Polytechnic can apply for the 1-year advance courses of World Skill Center to avail global placement opportunities.
The course Vertical Transportation (Lift, Escalator & Travelator Technology) designed under the guidance of Institute of Technical Education Singapore (ITEES) offers training from the Industrial Experts. It aims to provide students required technical skills & exposure to install, commission, maintain, repair & inspect modern lifts & escalators covering the entire gamut of operations under the domain.
Arun Mohanty of World Skill Center said, “Coming from a Mechanical background, I have gained skills in electrical module under Vertical Transportation. I have done hands-on practice in Wiring Connection, Panel Wiring Connection & Lift Wiring Connection. I believe that this advance course will transform my life where I aim to become a successful Lift Technician”.
Apart from the technical areas, the students under the program will attend Life Skills modules which cover inter-personal communication, professional development, design thinking, entrepreneurship and software applications, sports & wellness etc.
