The newly formed BJP administration in Odisha has announced its intention to replace the current KALIA (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation) program with a more comprehensive CM-Kisan Yojana (CMKY), as stated by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo on Wednesday.
During a session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, the Deputy Chief Minister revealed that farmers will receive an annual sum of Rs 4,000 in two installments, while landless farmers will benefit from a total assistance of Rs 12,500 distributed in three installments. Furthermore, the two installments are scheduled to be disbursed on the occasions of Nuakhai and Akshaya Tritiya Day. To avail the benefits under the new programme, farmers will have to register on the CM Kisan web portal.
The CM-KISAN initiative is expected to assist 45,76,524 small and marginal farmers, along with 19,12,122 landless farmers. Applications for the scheme can be submitted via the CM-Kisan portal, ensuring that all eligible beneficiaries will receive the intended support, as emphasized by Singh Deo.
According to the minister, the State Government is making arrangements to include all those farmers who have not been included under the PM Kisan Yojana.
