The government of Odisha commenced the development of a comprehensive vision document on Wednesday, aimed at formulating strategies to achieve the mission of Viksit Odisha 2036. This initiative is in alignment with the national goal of Viksit Bharat 2047 and seeks the active engagement and input of the general populace.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi introduced a web portal, https://vision.odisha.gov.in, to facilitate public participation in this endeavor. He emphasized that as the state aims to take a leading role in the Viksit Bharat initiative, it invites all citizens to collaborate in shaping the Odisha Vision for 2036 and 2047. “Together, let us forge a prosperous and dynamic future,” he stated.

The chief minister noted that Odisha will mark the centenary of its establishment in 2036, while India will celebrate 100 years of independence in 2047. “These two significant milestones present exceptional opportunities to enhance the state’s development and create a lasting legacy. We urge you to contribute your valuable insights and recommendations in key areas such as economic growth, inclusive and sustainable development, and the platforms necessary to advance these initiatives,” he added.

The chief minister emphasized that the forthcoming document will transcend the boundaries of a mere government publication; it will serve as an aspirational manifesto created by and for the people of Odisha. He further noted that the two deputy chief ministers, along with other ministers, will engage with citizens to collaboratively shape this vision document. The government intends to gather insights from distinguished individuals, organizations, intellectuals, educators, policymakers, non-resident Odias and industrialists, in addition to the general populace, to inform the development of the vision document.

Highlighting Odisha’s significant role in the initiatives outlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the chief minister reiterated his belief that the state is poised to become a pivotal growth engine for Viksit Bharat.

He remarked that the citizens of Odisha have quickly placed their trust in the government. “Our administration is dedicated to connecting with the common people, addressing their concerns and providing solutions,” he stated. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja also provided further details regarding the vision plans.
