KLF to Launch Annual Book Awards in Delhi Ahead of its literary festival in Bhubaneswar

The 11th Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF), a platform for intellectual and creative exchange, is set to unfold from March 21-23, 2025, in Bhubaneswar. This festival promises a celebration of ideas, languages, and cultures, bringing together over 500 writers, thinkers, idealists, realists, visionaries, intellectuals, avant-garde practitioners, the iconoclasts, thought leaders and visionaries from across the globe, representing over 25 languages.

KLF will be held in the three venues of Bhubaneswar: Mayfair Lagoon, Kala Bhoomi and Guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre.

The festival will feature over 500 speakers from various nationalities, including recipients of prestigious awards like the Nobel and Booker. Key sessions will cover topics such as cultural nationalism, female voice and identity, crime fiction, memoir, translation, poetry, economics, Generation Y, Indian languages, the publishing industry, mythology, media, market dynamics, children, women, transgender issues, citizen engagement, cinema, and sports. Additionally, there will be one-on-one sessions with leading experts and storytelling sessions that aim to enhance the literary spirit of the event.

The festival gathers a diverse group of writers, thinkers, humanitarians, politicians, business leaders, sports figures, and entertainers to promote freedom of expression and encourage thoughtful dialogue. Since its inception in 2013, it has hosted nearly 4,000 speakers and performers and attracted book lovers from around the world. The festival will feature acclaimed writers from countries such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Indonesia, Japan, the UK, Spain, France, and the USA.

The festival aims to highlight the relevance of ancestors’ wisdom in today’s world. Over three days, it will explore the interconnections between literature, freedom, republican values, cultural diversity, and social equity.
