On Tuesday, Narendra Modi expressed commendation for the inaugural BJP government led by Majhi in the state, subtly indicating to industry leaders that the transition in governance would not hinder Odisha’s industrialization efforts.

During the inauguration of the Utkarsh Odisha conclave, Modi remarked, “Eastern India serves as a vital growth engine for the nation’s development, with Odisha playing a significant role in this regard.”

He highlighted that this event marked the largest business summit ever held in Odisha. Addressing potential investors, the Prime Minister stated, “This is the opportune moment to invest.” The state government anticipates attracting investments totaling ₹5 lakh crore during the summit.

Modi emphasized that Odisha holds a special significance for him, as evidenced by his nearly 30 visits to the state since he first assumed the role of Prime Minister in 2014. In his current term, he has visited Odisha five times.

He urged business leaders to focus on fostering self-reliance and resilience in the face of global economic challenges. “Our raw materials are exported and subsequently processed elsewhere, adding value in those locations. A new product is then created and returned to our country. This situation is unacceptable. We must transform this ecosystem.”
