Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the highly anticipated Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. This flagship Global Investment Summit, organized by the Government of Odisha, seeks to establish the state as a cornerstone of the Purvodaya vision and a premier investment destination and industrial hub within India.

During his address at the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave, PM Modi noted that this marked his second visit to Odisha in 2025. He remarked, “I have been informed that this Utkarsh Odisha is the largest business summit ever held in the state, with participation from five to six times more investors. I extend my congratulations to the people of Odisha and the state government for this remarkable event.” PM Modi emphasized that ‘Purvi Bharat’ serves as a vital growth engine for India, with Odisha playing a significant role in this development.
He further stated, “Historically, when India contributed significantly to global growth, the eastern region was instrumental, serving as major industrial and trade centers. Odisha was pivotal as a primary hub for trade in Southeast Asia, with its ancient ports acting as gateways for India. Even today, the Bali Yatra festival is celebrated annually, and the President of Indonesia recently remarked that Odisha is part of his heritage.”

Odisha is commemorating its historical ties with Southeast Asia. In the 21st century, the state is poised to rejuvenate its illustrious heritage. Recently, the President of Singapore visited Odisha, resulting in the signing of numerous Memoranda of Understanding. Additionally, ASEAN nations have expressed a keen interest in enhancing their relationship with Odisha. Prime Minister Modi remarked that many new opportunities are emerging, which have not been seen since the time of Independence.
