“Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated,” this message by ‘International Women’s Day’, the global organization promoting gender equality, means a lot today for India.
Yes, “Together we can forge gender equality. Collectively for International Women’s Day #IWD2025 we can all #AccelerateAction.”
As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, National HRD Network (NHRDN – India’s Largest Network for HR Professionals) Bhubaneswar Chapter, ‘OdishaLIVE’ (a leading digital media platform of Odisha) & ‘Swasthya Plus Network’ (a leading multi-lingual digital health platform of Southeast Asia) are hosting a Youth Conclave in association with Rama Devi Women’s University (RDWU), Bhubaneswar (India).
The youth conclave is all set to be hosted on 8 March 2025 at Rama Devi Women’s University expecting a diverse crowd including over 600-700 students of undergraduate and post graduate levels of the premier institution. The event will also be attended by corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, faculty members along with media and communication professionals.
“In the changing world, women are taking centre stage everywhere. But there are still biases, gaps and barriers which we need to overcome together while fostering equal opportunities to all women and girls in an equal world. This youth conclave will underscore the message while engaging the new generation understanding their potential and flying beyond boundaries,” says Nilambar Rath, Founder Editor and CEO, OdishaLIVE and Co-Convenor of the program.
The unique event will feature a series of interactive sessions, including panel discussions and conversations. While the discussions will be focusing on the theme of the year ‘Accelerate Action’, topics like women in entrepreneurship and mental health will be presented. Thus, the event’s outcome is designed around empowering women to take charge of their careers and personal well-being.
“Every woman deserves best opportunities especially in terms of education, career and growth. Various institutions of the society need to foster and ensure the same. We take the opportunity of this youth conclave to educate and engage the students of our women’s university who shall not only focus on their career and life but also become the touch bearers in the society achieving equality for women tomorrow,” affirms Prof. Chandi Charan Rath, Vice-Chancellor (I/C) & Chairman, Post Graduate Council of Rama Devi Women’s University.
The day’s program will highlight ‘Women in Entrepreneurship’ featuring successful women entrepreneurs and startup founders of the region who will share their journey, challenges, and strategies for overcoming professional obstacles. Discussions will also delve into topics such as workplace equality, career advancement, and overcoming biases in professional settings.
The event will also feature a special session on mental health, with experts answering questions and providing guidance to the students and other participants.
“It’s not just in corporate settings; across all sectors, women face the challenge of navigating stereotypes. Women are often expected to be less aggressive, not suited for leadership, or more committed to family than their jobs. But what has worked for most women who have succeeded in leadership roles is resilience, willingness to stretch, and the ability to leverage networks,” says Bobby Patnaik, Chapter President, National HRD Network & HR Business Leader, Infosys.
Further, OdishaLIVE, in association with NHRD Network, takes the opportunity to announce a program titled ‘WE – Empowering Women, Fostering Entrepreneurship’. This initiative aims to amplify the outreach among the girl students of various higher education institutions across Odisha on the growing startup and entrepreneurship eco-system. The logo of ‘WE’ to be unveiled at this conclave.
The conclave will also witness felicitations to the women entrepreneurs and meritorious youth celebrating their success on the special occasion like International Women’s Day.
