BJD president Naveen Patnaik expressed happiness on Monday that Odisha achieved the highest industrial growth in India from 2015 to 2024 during his time as chief minister. Patnaik, who led the state from 2000 to 2024, noted that the manufacturing sector was a key driver of this growth.

He shared on X that Odisha’s industrial gross state value added (GSVA) grew at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10% during FY2015-FY2024, the highest among all states, according to a report from @ICRALimited. GSVA reflects the total value of goods and services produced by a state in a year at basic prices.

Through ongoing efforts to attract investment via ‘Make-in-Odisha’ events and careful development of the industrial landscape, the industry’s share in GSVA reached 51% in 2024, one of the highest in the nation. Patnaik also mentioned that Odisha recorded the second-highest growth in GSVA at constant prices, exceeding 7%, compared to the national economy’s 5.8% growth.

He emphasized that this sustained industrial growth not only changed Odisha’s economy but also improved the lives of its people, which was made possible by the support of 4.5 crore residents. He expressed gratitude to the people of Odisha for their role in the state’s transformation.
