On Friday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that his administration has developed 36 key initiatives aimed at creating a prosperous and developed Odisha by the year 2036, which marks the state’s centenary. This statement was made during a consultation workshop focused on the preparation of the Vision Odisha 2036 and 2047 documents. The Chief Minister emphasized, ‘A prosperous Odisha will be established by 2036, supported by these 36 initiatives, to transform the state into a $500 billion economy by its centenary.’
He stated that 36 high-priority programs have been identified to create a substantial impact in essential sectors by the year 2036. This strategic initiative, referred to as ’36 for 36′, aims to expedite the growth trajectory of Odisha, as Majhi noted. The chief minister emphasized that these programs will be implemented using a ‘whole of government’ approach to achieve the envisioned goals. Comprehensive programs will be developed, and actions will be undertaken in 36 areas, including the economy, industry, education, health, infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, science and research, innovation, women’s empowerment, rural development, tribal welfare, the Odia language, culture, and the promotion of Odia ‘Asmitha’.
Measures will be implemented to guarantee that all essential services are provided to the underprivileged members of society by 2036, he stated. The government has committed to an ambitious plan to transform Odisha into a prosperous state by 2036. Furthermore, Odisha is expected to play a significant role in contributing to India’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047, Majhi remarked. He emphasized that the vision document serves as a strategic plan for the aspirations of 4.5 crore residents of the state and a commitment to future generations. Majhi noted that the preparation of the vision document is nearing completion, with the draft finalized and the final version set to be developed following consultations with experts.
The vision document is currently being developed for the people and by the people. Over 320,000 suggestions have been collected from the citizens of Odisha, including those residing abroad,” he stated. Artificial intelligence has been utilized in the creation of this document, making Odisha the first state in India to compile such a document by analyzing public data and feedback with the assistance of AI. The chief minister mentioned that letters have been sent to MLAs and MPs requesting their valuable insights, considering their extensive experience.
A state-level consultation workshop took place on Friday, and three regional workshops are scheduled to occur in Sambalpur, Balasore, and Jeypore shortly, he added.
