It was a Saturday morning when along with two of our friends and their families we started for Wasaga beach.
The drive was around two hours due to the weekend traffic. The plan was to play in the blue-green Georgian Bay water and then escape to the blue mountains, a beautiful mountain village near Wasaga.
The Wasaga beach is a small town in the northern Ontario. Here the Georgian bay is at its wonderful self and while you are there, there is only one rule, have fun. Someone truly said “Life is a beach.”
While you are at the Wasaga beach, you will see men, women and children walking on the sand, swimming, playing beach volleyball, doing barbecue, reading books, taking a sun bath and tearing away the water with their jet skis and boats. Everyone is happy. The beach is a world in itself and everyone wants to be part of it.
The water was warm and inviting. We played in the water for an hour or so and enjoyed the scenic beauty of Blue Mountains from the beach. The beach was shallow and waves were not aggressive.
We carried a little picnic lunch from home to enjoy at the beach as well. It’s not every day that you get an opportunity to have lunch looking at the beautiful Georgian bay.
With breathtaking views nestled amidst pristine sands, this is the perfect haven for beach lovers. Immerse yourself in the warm water, indulge in a variety of activities, and be captivated by awe-inspiring mountain views.
After enjoying at the beach for a few hours, we found ourselves driving towards the Blue Mountain, which is a picturesque village famous for skiing. People all over the Ontario travel to Blue Mountain during winter to enjoy ice skiing.
There are many hotels and restaurants in the area. One can ride the gondola to view mountains. It started raining when we reached the Blue Mountain village. Instead of waiting in the car for the rain to stop, me and my friends braved the weather and went out with umbrellas on a walking tour of the village.
If you are ever near mountains and is rains, please be aware that it’s a blessing. The view of mountains during the rain and the fresh rain-drenched mountain air that enters your nostrils is nothing but magic.
You have to experience it to know how healing and cleansing it is. It took us around an hour to roam around the village. It was incredible.
We came back to Toronto in the evening the same day carrying the tale of Wasaga & Blue Mountain in our hearts.
