On Monday, the state government announced an extension of the deadline for submitting opinions and proposals related to the vision document for Viksit Odisha 2036, moving it from November 20 to December 5.

This decision was reached during a high-level meeting led by Development Commissioner Anu Garg at Lok Seva Bhawan. The extension aims to gather additional input from stakeholders to enhance the vision document, according to official sources. To date, the government has collected feedback from approximately 20,000 individuals, organizations, and various government and private entities. It anticipates receiving over 100,000 opinions and proposals to ensure the vision document is comprehensive and inclusive.

It was also resolved that extensive public outreach initiatives would be implemented to solicit further opinions and suggestions for the document’s preparation. Garg indicated that the state government plans to conduct open discussions following the collection of proposals. The vision document will encompass proposals aimed at advancing the state’s development across multiple sectors.

BVR Subrahmanyam, the chief executive officer of NITI Aayog, who assessed the progress of the vision document on Sunday, stated that it will delineate the necessary requirements and reforms to transform Odisha into a developed economy. The document will detail Odisha’s involvement in trade, investment, technology, and research. During the meeting on Sunday, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja emphasized the importance of meticulously preparing the vision document, taking into account future challenges and needs.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi introduced the logo and portal for the state’s vision document on October 30.
