In a miraculous attempt, Russia is all set to register its first COVID-19 vaccine on August 12 informed Deputy Health Minister Oleg Grindnev on Friday. Gamaleya Research Institute and Russian Defence Ministry jointly developed the vaccine.
Grindev said,” The vaccine is already in its third stage and the trials are very important. Medical professionals and senior citizens will be the first to get vaccinated. Once the population immunity has been formed, the effectiveness of the vaccine can be properly judged.”
The clinical trials of the vaccine began of June 18 that included 38 volunteers and all of them developed immunity. The first group was discharged on July 15 and the second group on July 20.
