Orissa Dance Academy, the renowned Odissi Dance Institute of India collaborates with Germany’s L’Art del mondo to present a mesmerizing production titled Indian Swan Lake in Germany.
This groundbreaking work has been envisioned and organized by Werner Ehrhardt, Director of L’Art del mondo. Supported by Embassy of India in Berlin, Germany.
The production intertwines the timeless beauty of Swan Lake with the tale of Nala Damayanti from the Epic Mahabharata. Odissi, a major classical dance tradition over millennia is extraordinarily choreographed so as to having dialogues between Indian and European dance forms.
The melodies of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake and the traditional music of Odisha have come together to create a harmonious fusion of musical and dance traditions of Europe and Odisha.
This unique collaboration brings together two distinguished choreographers: Deda Christina Colonna from Europe and Dr. Aruna Mohanty from Indian Subcontinent.
The presentations had taken place at Aschaffenburg (25 June, 2025), Leverkusen (27 June, 2025) and Potsdam (29 June, 2025) to the excitement of the German audiences.
This Historic collaboration brings a moment of pride for every Indian and Odia people worldwide to witness Odissi recital taking the global stage together with European dance performances.
