On Monday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the foundation stones for 27 industrial projects distributed across 12 districts. These initiatives represent an investment of Rs 25,400 crore, covering essential sectors such as renewable energy, rare earth minerals, textiles, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and downstream industries, with the potential to generate 52,000 direct and indirect jobs.

While addressing the event organized by the Industries department at the OUAT campus, Majhi stated, “Odisha is transitioning from promise to performance, from potential to prosperity, with each step deeply rooted in Odia Asmita. Our primary focus is on the youth of our state. I take pride in announcing that within just one year, out of 77,885 job opportunities created, 56,859 (approximately 80 percent) have been allocated to Odia individuals.”

“These figures are not merely statistics; they reflect the dedicated performance of our government. Each project launched today signifies not only an investment amount but also a testament to the trust in Odisha’s capabilities and governance,” he further remarked.

The chief minister stated that the government is resolute in its commitment to ensure that industrial opportunities are accessible in every part of the state, facilitating inclusive and sustainable development.

Odisha is advancing up the value chain, transitioning from being known for its mineral resources and primary industries to establishing itself as a center for high-value manufacturing and globally competitive products. “This transformation is central to our vision for Samruddha Odisha @ 2036 and Viksit Bharat @ 2047,” he remarked.

The chief minister noted that in the past 15 months, his administration has sanctioned 260 industrial projects with an investment totaling Rs 5.6 lakh crore, which is expected to create job opportunities for approximately 3.6 lakh individuals. The foundation stones for 84 industrial projects have already been laid, anticipated to attract over Rs 2 lakh crore in investment and generate around 1.64 lakh jobs, he added.

He emphasized that the state government has fostered a favorable environment for industrial growth by developing appropriate policies and offering sector-specific incentives. Bureaucratic obstacles have been reduced to guarantee a seamless experience for industrialists.

He urged all sectors, business leaders, and industrial organizations to engage in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’ initiative by planting numerous trees in their localities. He highlighted the significance of harmonizing development with environmental preservation.

Minister for Industries Sampad Chandra Swain stated that the state provides unparalleled opportunities for investors due to its forward-thinking policies, attentive governance, and top-tier infrastructure.
