Odisha sanctions 23 industrial projects worth ₹4,510.65 crore. Focused on labour-intensive sectors like textiles, this move will create 10,122 jobs across 11 districts

The government of Odisha has sanctioned 23 industrial investment proposals totaling Rs. 4,510.65 crore (US $486 million), a decision anticipated to create over 10,122 jobs in 11 districts throughout the state.
These proposals received approval during a meeting of the State-level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), presided over by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, highlighting the state’s ongoing efforts to attract substantial industrial investments and enhance employment opportunities.
Labour-intensive sectors, especially garments and technical textiles, were notably represented among the approved initiatives. Sonaselection India Ltd plans to set up a garment manufacturing facility in Khurda with an investment of Rs. 130 crore (US $14.03 million), which is projected to generate 1,858 jobs. In addition, Alphatex Pvt Ltd will construct a technical textile manufacturing plant in the same district, investing Rs. 180 crore (US $19.43 million) and creating around 1,050 job opportunities.
These approvals demonstrate Odisha’s strategic emphasis on labour-intensive industries and infrastructure development, aimed at fostering inclusive economic growth and improving job creation across various regions.
