Agriculture and farmers have long been considered the backbone of India’s economy, supporting rural livelihoods and contributing significantly to the country’s socio-economic development. Within this sector, dairy farming plays an important role by providing a steady source of income to millions of farmers. However, challenges related to livestock productivity, scientific nutrition, access to expert advisory services, and modern farm support continue to limit the growth potential of dairy farmers.

Working at the intersection of agriculture, technology and rural entrepreneurship, Odisha’s Balasore-based startup Gocarin Industries Pvt. Ltd. is focusing on addressing some of these challenges through its AgriTech and Livestock-Tech solutions. Founded in 2022, the startup is developing a livestock ecosystem that combines scientifically formulated cattle nutrition products, digital advisory services and rural support networks.
“Gocarin Industries was born from an idea to support farmers by addressing a fundamental challenge in livestock farming. We wanted to develop scientifically formulated cattle feed that could help improve milk production and create better opportunities for dairy farmers,” said Dr. Ramanuj Panda, Founder and CEO, Gocarin Industries.

The startup’s product portfolio includes the Poshan series of cattle feed, developed with a focus on livestock nutrition, along with supplements supporting animal health and productivity. Its GoSeaGraze supplement, based on seaweed technology, focuses on sustainable livestock nutrition and methane reduction. The company has also introduced Gavyam, a circular economy initiative that converts cattle biomass into products such as organic manure and eco-friendly incense products while creating livelihood opportunities through rural networks.
Apart from physical products, Gocarin is building a technology-enabled support system for livestock farmers. Its mobile application provides access to cattle nutrition guidance, feed recommendations and veterinary support. The startup is also working towards expanding its Gokisan network as a rural platform connecting farmers with livestock-related products and services.

“Our vision is to build Gocarin as a one-stop solution for livestock farmers, where they can access support related to feed, productivity improvement, consultancy, finance, insurance and other essential services. We aim to create an integrated network connecting farmers and all stakeholders across the livestock ecosystem,” Dr. Panda said.
Gocarin’s growth journey has been aligned with Odisha’s efforts to nurture innovation-led enterprises. Through Startup Odisha under the MSME Department, the startup has been part of the state’s entrepreneurship ecosystem, receiving support and ecosystem linkages that have helped it develop its livestock-focused solutions, strengthen its innovation efforts and move towards scaling its operations beyond the state.
With its focus on rural innovation, technology adoption and sustainable livestock solutions, Gocarin reflects the growing participation of Odisha-based startups in solving challenges within traditional sectors.
