Scientists from Odisha universities including SOA, NIT Rourkela, KIIT, and Ravenshaw University make Stanford’s ‘World’s Top 2% Scientists’ list in 2025

In a moment of pride for Odisha, numerous scientists and researchers from the state have secured positions on Stanford University’s esteemed ‘World’s Top 2% Scientists’ list.

This list, created by Stanford University in partnership with Elsevier, acknowledges prominent researchers based on comprehensive research metrics, which include citations, h-index, co-authorship, and a composite measure known as the c-score, reflecting both long-term and recent research achievements.

The researchers highlighted in this list comprise 20 from SOA University, 18 from NIT Rourkela, 6 from KIIT, two each from IISER Berhampur, OUAT, OUTR, and Sambalpur University, along with one each from CIPET, FM University, Ravenshaw University, GIET University at Gunupur, Government College of Engineering, Keonjhar, CIFA-Bhubaneswar, and Sri Sri University.

Notably, Prof. Luna Samanta, who leads the zoology department at Ravenshaw University, is among those acknowledged for their significant worldwide impact in their respective fields.

In total, 6,239 Indian faculty members have been included in the list under the single-year category.
