XIM University in Bhubaneswar recently hosted the two-day ‘Business Excellence Summit-2024’ on September 14-15. This was the 6th edition of this conference with the theme being ‘Redefining Possibilities’. Siddhartha Gupta, President of Mercer India joined the event as chief speaker.
Siddhartha Gupta addressed the pressing issues of corporate capitalism and India’s low consumption rates, encouraging the audience to break free from conventional thinking. He shared insights from his personal experiences, showcasing innovation’s potential to overcome disruptions like COVID-19, AI and sustainability challenges. He stressed that resilience is vital to succeed in today’s fast-paced world. He said, “People generally don’t step up to take charge, whenever you find yourself shying away or stepping down from adversities, do the contrary and seize every opportunity.”
The summit brought together industry leaders and business experts who shared their valuable insights across multiple sessions. They delved into the latest advancements and emerging opportunities in the business world, offering unique perspectives on the current business landscape.
The summit explored the possibilities and potential of businesses in India’s growing economy, emphasizing the importance of adopting innovative technologies for business growth and economic stability. Discussions were held on the changes taking place in the global business world.
Amit Talgeri, CRO, Axis Bank, Rajen Mishra, Director, Grant Thornton and Subhankar Pattanayak, Director, ANZ and SAP India joined the conference. They encouraged students to explore topics like data analytics, technology, VUCA & corporate etiquette. Q&A sessions were held in various segments of this convention.
Prof. Francis Thomas Castelino, Associate Dean of Career Advisory Services, chaired the proceedings on Day 2, with Richard Lobo, CPO, Tech Mahindra, delivered the keynote address.
Richard Lobo, XIM Bhubaneswar alumnus, addressed the institute’s leadership, stressing the importance of innovation, ethics and visionary thinking in response to AI, sustainability and geopolitical shifts reshaping the business world. He highlighted the significance of ethical leadership. He urged reflection on core values and legacy, sharing his own HR journey. By leveraging network analysis, he demonstrated the critical role people play in organizational success. His asserted, “A leader succeeds because their network succeeds”.
The summit was attended by Fr. Antony R. Uvari, Vice Chancellor, XIM University, V. Arcot Das, CFO, Prof DV Ramana, among others. Around 150 students, along with faculty members of the university participated in the program.
Other notable attendees included Sambit Mohanty, Business Development Leader, India Startups at Siemens Digital and Biju Dominic, Chief Evangelist, Fractal Analytics.
The Business Excellence Summit-2024 provided a platform for industry leaders, experts and students to engage in interactive discussions and they explored the vast possibilities in India’s growing economy.
