Nayagarh district in Odisha sees shocking gang rape of 21-year woman

A 21-year-old woman was reportedly subjected to gang rape by three unidentified individuals in the presence of her fiancé in a forest located in Nayagarh district, Odisha, as stated by police on Friday.
According to Khandapada SDPO Bimal Kumar Barik, three suspects have been apprehended. The incident, which occurred on October 20, was brought to the attention of authorities when the woman filed a complaint at the Fategarh police station on Friday. The couple was returning home after a visit to a temple when the assault took place.
Barik explained, “The three individuals confronted them near Pithakhai forest, forcibly took them into the woods and assaulted the woman while threatening her fiancé with a knife.” He further noted that the assailants recorded the incident on a mobile device and confirmed that a medical examination of the victim would be conducted.
The police have detained three persons in this connection and started interrogating them.
