The Odisha budget session for the year 2025 is scheduled to commence on February 13, featuring an address by Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, and will extend until April 5. Following this address, a motion of thanks will be presented.
According to the outlined schedule, the budget session will occur in two distinct phases, encompassing a total of 28 working days. The first phase is set to take place from February 13 to February 21, while the second phase will initiate on March 7, during which the Presentation of Reports from the Departmentally Related Standing Committees will occur, continuing until April 5. The discussion regarding the Governor’s Address is planned for two days, specifically February 14 and 15. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, who also oversees the Finance Department, is expected to present the State budget for 2025-26 on February 17.
A general discussion on the budget will be conducted on February 20 and 21. The Demands for Grants related to the Budget will commence on March 10 and conclude on March 28. The Appropriation Bill for the Budget of the fiscal year 2025-2026 will be introduced on March 29.
