On Monday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi called upon a delegation of Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officers to assist the youth of Odisha in seizing opportunities abroad, particularly in European nations where there is a significant demand for skilled labor.

The Chief Minister stated that the state government is actively working to prepare its youth through various skilling initiatives. The Skilled-in-Odisha program has gained international recognition, and the government is committed to providing enhanced opportunities for its aspiring youth in European countries.

The diplomats could play a crucial role by offering timely information regarding available opportunities abroad, he remarked.

Three IFS officers from the 2000 and 2001 batches met with the Chief Minister at Lok Seva Bhawan. The delegation comprised Manoj Kumar Mohapatra, Ambassador to Romania, Amit Narang, Ambassador to the Republic of Slovenia, and Gloria Gangte, High Commissioner to the Republic of Malta.

The Chief Minister further stressed that promoting Odisha’s cultural heritage and handicrafts in European countries will enhance the state’s pride and global recognition. During their discussion with the Chief Minister, the IFS officers praised the successful hosting of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bhubaneswar this year.

The envoys pointed out the increasing demand for skilled labor in European nations and pledged to seek opportunities for the youth of Odisha.

The diplomats engaged with the Chief Minister on various governance issues, development initiatives in Odisha, and India’s diplomatic relations on a global scale.
