On Friday, Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati engaged in an interactive session with journalists from both national and regional media outlets, where he discussed the proactive involvement of Raj Bhavan in overseeing governance and ensuring the efficient delivery of public services. Throughout the two-hour discussion, the Governor addressed a variety of inquiries — ranging from departmental performance and women’s safety to infrastructure development and Odisha’s ambition to achieve Viksit Odisha (Developed Odisha) by 2036.

“Odisha possesses abundant mineral resources. Their prudent utilization will greatly boost the state’s revenue and foster economic advancement,” Kambhampati remarked. In response to a question regarding the delay in establishing rules for the implementation of the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act, 1996 (PESA), he stated, “I have been informed that a draft of the PESA rules is currently under circulation. I anticipate that it will be implemented soon to protect the interests of tribal communities in the Scheduled Areas.”

Furthermore, this virtual interaction has likely been made possible by the innovative and tech-savvy secretary at Raj Bhavan. Roopa Roshan Sahu is the first woman to hold the position of Secretary to the Governor.
