Berhampur University will host the 5th Odisha Research Conclave 2025, bringing 657 researchers from 17 universities to advance innovation, policy and collaboration

The academic landscape of Odisha is set for a defining moment as Berhampur University prepares to host the 5th Odisha Research Conclave (ORC) – 2025, in collaboration with the Odisha State Higher Education Council (OSHEC), Government of Odisha, from November 27–29, 2025.
This year’s edition marks a record participation, bringing together 657 researchers, faculty members, and academicians from 17 state universities—a milestone for both Berhampur University and the state’s higher education ecosystem.
Vice-Chancellor Speaks: A Historic Occasion for Berhampur University
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Geetanjali Dash expressed pride and excitement as the institution prepares to host the conclave on an unprecedented scale.
“We are very happy for this opportunity. This is the fifth edition of the conclave, and for the first time, we are hosting such a large number of participating teachers, researchers, and students. Our preparation work is also almost complete for this grand academic research gathering,” she stated.
She further noted that nearly 400 researchers who have received financial grants under various state fellowships and projects will present their findings through dedicated poster sessions, highlighting Odisha’s growing research capacity and innovation potential.
Conclave Mission, Structure & Key Highlights
The Odisha Research Conclave is a flagship initiative of the Government of Odisha and the Department of Higher Education, designed to strengthen the research ecosystem across the state. The platform brings together scholars, domain experts, and policy thinkers to encourage interdisciplinary dialogue, peer-reviewed research dissemination, and future-focused policy thinking.

• Launch of Patents & Start-up Innovations
• Policy Dialogues on Viksit Odisha@2036 in alignment with Viksit Bharat@2047
Every participating university and leading national research institution will be allocated dedicated stalls to display achievements in patents, research innovations, incubation facilities, Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and major academic breakthroughs.
Distinguished Dignitaries to Grace the Event
The conclave will witness the presence of eminent academic leaders and administrators, reaffirming its national significance. Confirmed dignitaries include:
• Prof. B. J. Rao, Vice-Chancellor, Hyderabad Central University – Chief Guest (Inauguration)
• Prof. Dhananjay Singh, Member Secretary, Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) – Distinguished Guest
• Aravind Agrawal, Commissioner – cum – Secretary – Distinguished Guest
The program will also spotlight major government-led research initiatives, including the Mukhyamantri Research and Innovation Fellowship Program and the Odisha Higher Education Plan for Equity and Excellence, which continue to shape the future of research and innovation in the state.
