Odisha Research Conclave 2025 at Berhampur University calls for youth-led innovation and collaboration to strengthen research for Viksit Bharat 2047

The three-day Odisha Research Conclave–2025 concluded at Berhampur University on Saturday, highlighting the need for youth-driven research to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. The event recorded the highest participation so far, with 657 researchers and academicians from 17 state universities.
Chief Guest Dr. Pradeep Kumar Panigrahy, MP Berhampur, urged young scholars to address challenges relating to the environment, nutrition and livelihood, emphasising that research will guide India’s journey towards becoming a Vishwaguru. He appreciated the efforts of Berhampur University, OSHEC and the Higher Education Department for successfully hosting the state’s largest research gathering.
Padma Shri Prof. Aditya Prasad Dash delivered the keynote address, stressing innovation, ethical research, and skill-based knowledge creation as essential for national progress.
The concluding session featured a high-level roundtable on “Excellence in Research through Collaboration, Culture & Creativity,” with participation from directors and senior representatives of premier institutes including IIT Bhubaneswar, NISER, IISER Berhampur, IOP, IMMT, IMA and ILS. Discussions focused on improving coordination and boosting research quality through collaboration.
Across the three days, eight technical sessions, poster presentations and young researcher showcases were held, followed by felicitation of outstanding contributors.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Geetanjali Dash thanked participating institutions and announced that the conclave recommendations will be submitted to the Higher Education Department.
“This collective effort will strengthen Odisha’s research ecosystem,” she said.
Jointly organised by OSHEC and Berhampur University, Odisha Research Conclave–2025 has set a forward-looking foundation for innovation, collaboration and knowledge advancement in the state.
