The Budget Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly begins on February 17, 2026, with the Governor’s address and the 2026–27 state budget to be presented on February 20. The session will continue in phases till April 8
The budget session of the Legislative Assembly is set to commence tomorrow, February 17, and will conclude on April 8, 2026. In preparation for the budget session, Assembly Speaker Surama Padhi has convened an all-party meeting today, which falls on Monday.
During the all-party meeting today, Speaker Surama Padhi will request the cooperation of members to ensure the smooth and orderly functioning of the House. Additionally, she will urge all parties to uphold democratic traditions and preserve the dignity of the proceedings.
Furthermore, the parties will also deliberate on the issues that will be presented in the assembly during the meeting.
According to sources, Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati is expected to deliver his customary inaugural address to the House on the opening day of the Budget Session. Odisha Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will present the state Budget for the financial year 2026-27 on February 20. The Budget Session will be conducted in two phases and is planned to extend until April 8.
