Ketaki Foundation Trust and Silicon University jointly organized ‘Obscura – a presentation and discussion on photography’ on 19th Aug, 2024, the World Photography Day, at Silicon University. Renowned photographers were invited to share their insights and expertise with the Silicon Photography Club’s student members, amidst an audience of dignitaries, art enthusiasts, and photography lovers.
The program commenced with a welcome note by Kapilas Bhuyan, a senior journalist, filmmaker and Trustee of Ketaki Foundation Trust. Dr. Jaideep Talukdar, Vice Chancellor of Silicon University, delivered the keynote address as the Chief Guest, motivating the students.
Filmmaker and Writer, Sanjoy Patnaik, shared his valuable insights on ‘Sociology of Moving Images’ with a focus on Youth and Society, encouraging the students with his enlightening words. Ashis Dhir, photographer and program curator, showcased his remarkable work on ‘Tribals of Odisha,’ sharing his photographic journey. The event was attended by invited individuals and trustees of the foundation.
A Q&A session at the end saw photography experts interacting with budding photographers on various aspects of the art and skills of photography. This experience benefited the Silicon Photography Club students, providing them with valuable knowledge and motivation.
