Check the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police traffic advisory and route restrictions for President Droupadi Murmu’s three-day official visit to Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Aug 3: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory in view of President Droupadi Murmu’s three-day visit to Odisha from August 3 to 5.
The advisory outlines temporary traffic restrictions across the twin cities to ensure the smooth movement of the Presidential convoy and maintain public safety.
According to the notification, vehicular movement will be restricted on designated roads and connecting lanes during specific time slots throughout the visit period.
Monday, August 3, traffic restrictions
- 2:10 PM to 2:30 PM: Vehicular movement restricted on the route from Airport Square to Lok Bhavan Square via Hospital Square and AG Square.
- 3:50 PM to 4:50 PM: Traffic curbs on routes covering Lok Bhavan Square, Power House Square, 120 Battalion Square, Sastri Nagar Square, Behera Sahi Square, Jaydev Vihar Square, XIMB Square, NALCO Square, Damana Square, Patia Square, KIIT Square, Nandankanan Square, Baranga Golei, Block Chhak, Canal Road up to Godi Sahi Chhak and Banara Chhak.
- 5:50 PM to 6:50 PM: Closure of the return route from Banara Chhak to Lok Bhavan Square.
On Tuesday, August 4, movement will be restricted from 8:30 AM to 8:50 AM along the route connecting Lok Bhavan Square, AG Square, Raj Mahal Square, Master Canteen Square, UCO Bank Lane, leading to the designated venue.
On Wednesday, August 5, restrictions will be in place from 12:30 PM to 12:50 PM on the route from Bhubaneswar Railway Station through UCO Bank Lane, Raj Mahal Square, AG Square, Hospital Square, up to Airport Square.
The advisory also states that on August 3, goods carriers with six wheels and above, including buses, trucks and trailers, travelling from Bhubaneswar/Khordha side towards Cuttack, as well as those moving from the Cuttack/Balikuda Square side towards Bhubaneswar/Pitapalli Square, will not be allowed to ply during the notified restriction periods.
However, the restrictions will not apply to emergency service vehicles, including fire services, ambulances and police vehicles.
The Commissionerate Police has urged commuters to plan their journeys in advance, use alternate routes wherever possible and cooperate with traffic personnel to ensure smooth traffic management during the President’s visit.
President Droupadi Murmu has arrived in Odisha on a 3-day visit, during which she will attend several official programmes, including a train journey between Bhubaneswar and Brahmapur, officials said. Her itinerary covers Cuttack, Khordha and Ganjam districts.
The President reached Bhubaneswar from New Delhi aboard a special aircraft. She is scheduled to inaugurate the Jagadguru Kripalu University near Baanga in Damapada tehsil of Cuttack district.
On August 4, President Murmu is scheduled to travel by train from Bhubaneswar to Brahmapur, a decision taken in view of the prevailing monsoon conditions. From the Silk City, she will proceed by road to Taptapani, where she will offer prayers and perform aarti at Maa Kandhuni Devi Peetha. She will also participate in a tree plantation drive and visit the Dhabaleswar Temple near Brahmapur.
The President is expected to stay overnight in Brahmapur before returning to Bhubaneswar by train on August 5. She will then depart for New Delhi aboard the IAF aircraft.
