Odisha reported biggest single-day spike of 2,496 new cases on Saturday. With this, the total COVID-19 tally in the state reached 57,126. Of the new cases, 1591 were reported from quarantine centres and 905 are local contact cases.
Khorda district reported highest 378 cases followed by Ganjam (327), Balasore (165), Sundergarh (156), Rayagada (146), Koraput (133) Cuttack (128), Boudh (115) and Bhadrak (102).

With the record surge in new COVID-19 cases, the total active cases in Odisha stand at 17, 534. Apart from the new cases, Odisha also reported nine COVID-19 deaths today.
Odisha government has claimed that testing is being increased to facilitate early detection, isolation and treatment of COVID-19 patients. 47,887 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the State. As per the Chief Minister’s Office, the State is conducting 867 tests per day per million compared to national average of 602.
