On April 1, 1936, Odisha became the first State to be established on a linguistic basis. CM Majhi has directed his administration to concentrate on a 15-point guideline aimed at making governance dynamic and centered around the people. This event marked the assumption of office by Anu Garg, the first female Chief Secretary of the State.

“The government has set an ambitious target of creating a prosperous Odisha with a $500 billion economy by 2036, positioning the State among the top five developed states in the nation. To realize this vision, the State must transition towards a mixed economy,” CM Majhi stated in a declaration on Thursday. It is important to note that Odisha relies significantly on its abundant mineral resources, including iron ore, bauxite, and coal.

Highlighting the importance of knowledge-driven industries and the services sector, he asserted that concerted efforts must be made for the rapid development of the State, with all district collectors required to expedite various approvals and implement necessary processes.

“Measures should be taken to fill all vacant government positions within the next two years. While the services of efficient and well-trained officers should be utilized, corrupt, incompetent, and irresponsible officers and employees must be identified. Actions, including compulsory retirement, should be enforced against them,” the Chief Minister stressed.

CM Majhi has mandated that all government work, particularly notices, notifications, and official correspondence, be published solely in the Odia language.
