The Spread Happiness Foundation, an organization renowned for its unwavering commitment to societal betterment, continues to make significant strides in rural areas. Today, the foundation’s dedicated team conducted a crucial social awareness campaign on menstrual hygiene at the Jay Mahlar ME School in Morachi Chincholi, Shirur Taluka, Pune District.
With a focus on empowering young minds, the foundation engaged with over 80 students from the rural school during the enlightening session. The initiative, led by the dynamic Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra, aimed to address the critical issue of menstrual hygiene and educate young girls on best practices for maintaining their well-being.
Mr. Mohapatra’s engaging presentation encompassed vital topics, including the dos and don’ts during the menstrual cycle. He also emphasized the importance of using sanitary pads for a safe and hygienic experience. The session was ensuring that the students grasped the essential knowledge effectively.
In addition to Mr. Mohapatra, the event saw the active participation of Pranati Sabat, a dedicated member of the organization. The school’s Headmaster, Mr. Prakash Gavade, along with other teaching staff, lent their support and presence to the event, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the community.
At the conclusion of the session, Spread Happiness Foundation distributed sanitary pads to all the girl students present. This gesture was a practical step towards ensuring that the knowledge gained during the session could be immediately put into practice, promoting a healthy and hygienic menstrual experience for the girls.
Mr. Prakash Gavade, the Headmaster of Jay Mahlar ME School, extended his heartfelt thanks to Spread Happiness Foundation for their valuable initiative. He acknowledged the positive impact of the session on the students and requested the foundation to repeat such sessions in the future, recognizing their significant contribution to the well-being of the students and the community.
“Our goal is to empower young girls with the knowledge and resources they need to navigate this natural phase of life confidently and safely,” said Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra, who spearheaded the awareness campaign.
