The World Skill Center (WSC) in Bhubaneswar has invited applications for its Advanced Skill Development Courses for the academic session 2026–27. The last date for submitting applications is September 30.
WSC offers Advanced Skill Development Courses at its Bhubaneswar and Sambalpur campuses under the Skill Development and Technical Education Department, Government of Odisha. The one-year programmes are available under the Schools of Engineering and Services, while the School of Advance Technology at the Bhubaneswar campus is offering a six-month programme in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML).
At the Bhubaneswar campus, the School of Engineering offers courses in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, Electrical Technology, Mechanical & Electrical Services, Mechatronics Engineering, Vertical Transportation, Precision Engineering, Digital Animation, and Logistics & Supply Chain Management. The School of Services offers one-year programmes in Beauty & Wellness, Hospitality & Hotel Operations, and Health Care Assistant Training.
At the Sambalpur campus, candidates can apply for one-year courses in Beauty & Wellness, Hospitality & Hotel Operations, and Logistics & Supply Chain Management.
Eligibility requirements vary across programmes. Depending on the course, candidates with qualifications such as ITI, diploma, B.E./B.Tech, +2 and other prescribed credentials can apply. The six-month AI & ML programme is open to candidates with B.E./B.Tech or MCA qualifications, subject to the specified eligibility criteria.
Eligible candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, SEBC and minority communities can pursue the one-year Advanced Skill Development Courses free of cost, subject to applicable conditions.
Students will be provided free hostel accommodation, meals, uniforms and bus transportation during the training period. Ten per cent of seats in the programmes are reserved for candidates from outside Odisha, subject to eligibility requirements and admission norms.
The programmes are designed around practical and hands-on training, with courses aligned to specific technical and service-sector skills.
It is worth noting that WSC recorded a 99% placement rate during 2025–26, with 295 candidates securing placement opportunities outside India.
