The company’s net profit for the April-September period surged 54% to ₹3,837 crore compared with the corresponding period of the previous financial year. Total income rose 33% to ₹11,143 crore against ₹8,374 crore in the first half of FY 2025-26.

NALCO’s EBITDA increased by 50% to ₹5,539 crore, while Profit Before Tax grew by 55% to ₹5,160 crore, reflecting strong operational performance and favourable market conditions.

The company also reported an impressive performance in the second quarter ended September 2026, with net profit rising 28% year-on-year to ₹1,835 crore against ₹1,433 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

Total income from operations during the quarter stood at ₹5,419 crore, registering a growth of 26% over ₹4,292 crore in the second quarter of FY 2025-26.

The unaudited financial results were approved by the company’s Board of Directors at a meeting held in New Delhi on November 2.

On the production front, NALCO achieved its highest-ever aluminium cast metal production of 2.35 lakh tonnes during the first half of the current fiscal. It also recorded its highest-ever cumulative domestic sales of alumina and aluminium metal during the period.

The company has announced an interim dividend of ₹4.50 per equity share, representing 90% of the face value of ₹5, with a total payout of ₹826.48 crore for FY 2026-27.

Commenting on the performance, NALCO Chairman-cum-Managing Director Brijendra Pratap Singh attributed the strong financial results to operational efficiency, robust physical performance, favourable market conditions and prudent marketing strategies.

Outlining the company’s expansion roadmap, Singh said the fifth stream expansion of the alumina refinery was at an advanced stage of commissioning. Groundwork for the proposed 0.5 million tonnes per annum brownfield aluminium smelter expansion project at Angul in Odisha was also progressing steadily.

He said NALCO remained committed to capacity augmentation and expansion initiatives to create long-term value for stakeholders while contributing to the country’s industrial growth.

Singh also credited the company’s sustained growth to the dedication of its employees, continuous improvements in operational excellence and the confidence of its stakeholders. He expressed gratitude to the Union Ministry of Mines and the Odisha Government for their continued guidance and support.
