At TiECon 2025, CM Majhi invites global investors to join Odisha’s journey in manufacturing, AI, and entrepreneurship

Emphasizing that Odisha is currently at the forefront of India’s growth trajectory, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi stated on Sunday that the state is ready for its next advancement, driven by entrepreneurship, innovation, and manufacturing as its primary growth engines.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of TiECon Bhubaneswar 2025 – A summit focused on Entrepreneurship and AI, the chief minister remarked that Odisha is now establishing itself as a favored location for global capability centers.

“To every investor, mentor, and entrepreneur present here, we extend an invitation to invest, innovate, and grow alongside us. We are actively positioning Odisha as a preferred destination for global capability centers. Whether it involves chip design, AI research, blockchain, or financial inclusion, Odisha is prepared to take the lead,” he stated.

Majhi also mentioned that Odisha has emerged as one of the first states in India to implement a dedicated AI policy. “We have also updated our semiconductor policy and will soon introduce new strategies for investments in IT, global capability centers, and FinTech,” he added.

Furthermore, Majhi indicated that with progressive policies, world-class infrastructure, and a collaborative mindset, the state is cultivating an ecosystem where global expertise converges with local talent to shape the future of a developed Odisha. “Odisha is no longer a bystander in India’s growth narrative. We are at its core and evolving into an innovation hub,” he asserted.

He noted that the state government is now preparing its youth with future-ready skills in AI, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies, with initiatives underway to extend this growth beyond Bhubaneswar to cities such as Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur, and Berhampur, which are being developed as the next wave of digital hubs. “Our vision transcends mere GDP growth; it encompasses job creation, youth empowerment, and the promotion of social justice,” Majhi concluded.

Ensuring comprehensive support for investors and entrepreneurs, the Chief Minister stated, “Once you join us here, you will undoubtedly perceive Odisha as your second home. Together, we can transform Odisha into the entrepreneurial hub of eastern India and genuinely fulfill the vision of Purvodaya.”

The two-day event was conducted by the Electronics & Information Technology and Industries departments, OCAC, IPICOL, and Startup Odisha in partnership with TiE Global. The event was attended by Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Mukesh Mahaling, Jajpur MP Rabindra Behera, Rajya Sabha MP Sujit Kumar, additional chief secretary of Industries Hemant Sharma, principal secretary of E&IT Vishal Dev, along with industry leaders and key stakeholders from the E&IT ecosystem.
