The Odisha government signs 15 strategic MoUs with industry and academic leaders at the World Skill Center to enhance technical training and youth employability

Odisha government on Tuesday exchanged Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with 15 organisations to strengthen skill development, technical education and industry collaboration in the state.
The MoUs were exchanged at a ceremony held at the World Skill Center in Bhubaneswar in the presence of Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain.
The partnerships will cover areas including emerging technologies, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, robotics, semiconductors, green jobs and automotive technology.
Speaking at the event, Swain said the collaborations would help develop a skilled workforce to meet the requirements of Odisha’s expanding industrial sector. He said the partnerships would also provide opportunities for youth to access industry-oriented training, employment and career development.
According to the government, the agreements will facilitate industry-led training, curriculum development, trainer capacity building, knowledge exchange, apprenticeships and placement opportunities. The collaborations will also support the establishment and strengthening of Centres of Excellence in relevant areas.
The partnerships are expected to give students and trainees greater exposure to emerging technologies and industry practices, while helping technical education and training programmes respond to changing workforce requirements.
The MoUs also cover areas related to sustainable development and green jobs, with a focus on preparing young people for employment opportunities associated with the transition to new technologies and a low-carbon economy.
The government said the collaborations would also seek to increase opportunities for women and students from underprivileged communities in technical education and skilled employment.
The organisations that exchanged MoUs with the state include 1M1B Foundation, Calderys of France, CIEL HR Services Ltd, Cloos India of Germany, Delphi-TVS Technologies Ltd, F5 India of the US, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, Hettich Poddar Wood Working Institute, iFOREST, Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Pvt Ltd, OASME, Semantics, Siksha O Anusandhan University, THK India of Japan and Utkal University.
Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Skill Development and Technical Education Department Bhupendra Singh Poonia, Director of Technical Education and Training Chakravarti Singh Rathore, World Skill Center CEO Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra and representatives of the partner organisations were present at the ceremony.
